Open District Service Postions
The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions.
Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
“Since Al-Anon’s beginnings our membership has greatly increased, not through grand advertising campaigns but through a policy of simply letting the public know who we are, what we are, and where we are. People living with the problems of alcoholism are attracted to our program by the warmth and loving care they encounter at meetings.”

Alateen
Part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, Alateen is a fellowship of people ages 12-19, whose lives have been affected by alcoholism in a close friend or family member. Meetings provide an opportunity for teens to come together to discuss their difficulties, offer encouragement, and learn more effective ways to cope with their problems. Run for teens by teens, each meeting is guided by a certified adult Al-Anon member. To learn more visit https://northerncaliforniaal-anon.org/alateen/.
In Marin an Alateen group meets Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:00pm in Corte Madera (in person) and over Zoom. The hybrid meeting is open to people ages 12-19 who reside in Northern California.
